Full Term
Today I am 37 weeks pregnant, which is considered to be full term!!! Today is also my 26th birthday. It truly is a gift to be full term on my birthday. After 3 years of obstetric and postpartum nursing I know firsthand that pregnancy and childbirth do not always have a good outcome. I am so thankful to have made it this far and I'm praying that the remainder of the pregnancy will go just as well. It is hard to believe that in a few short weeks Stephen will be stepping out of the delivery room and introducing our child to family and friends. Here are some 26 year old photos of my dad bringing me out to meet the world!
It looks like he's saying "girl" or "huge". Both were true. I was born a 9 lb 10 oz girl.
I love this picture because it is such a good one of Chuck (my grandmother). We have always had a special relationship and her delight in me has had a great impact on my life. She has modeled to me what Jesus's love for his children is like. One day I hope to be a grandmother just like her.

Happy Hunter
My whole life I've been surrounded by hunters, my grandfather, father, brother, and most recently... husband. Through my observation I have concluded that 90% of hunting is about the "stuff" and 10% about the actual hunt. You can imagine Stephen's devastation when most all of his hunting gear was stolen out of his truck this past January. It was depressing. Years worth of collecting and hundreds of dollars...gone. The most substantial loss was his new deer rifle that was carefully and thoughtfully purchased only a couple months before. We told ourselves that these were just things, but we could not help but feel kicked while we were already down. Stephen was still recovering from his back injury, we were about to move, and of course the baby just a few months away. The morning of the incident I cried and Stephen walked around in the yard, as mad as I've ever seen him. I felt so helpless because there was nothing I could do...I couldn't replace the stuff and couldn't offer him any comfort. Thankfully State Farm Insurance could! We should make a commercial. Everything was covered under our renters insurance (much to our surprise). Here is the happy hunter shortly after receiving his order from Mack's Prarie Wings.
This picture does not include the new gun or the waders which are yet to be purchased. You may not be able to see Stephen in this picture for all the camouflage. He's sitting in the middle of the couch.

Sunday Snow and Movie Marathon
We awoke this morning to a snowy scene outside our bedroom window. This weather was such a treat and wonderfully conducive to my lazy mood. Before church I whipped up some chili and mentally prepared for some serious TV watching and a nap. The day has fully lived up to my expectations. Below are the movies we have watched at least part or all of today.
morning view from window
Rear Window...one of my all time favorites
Legally Blonde...cute, fun, seen it too many times
Smokey and the Bandit...one of Stephen's all time favorites
Tommy Boy....I slept through all of this one
Old School...so funny, nice to watch the edited TV version
Talledega Nights.... currently watching
I think I'll make one more batch of slice and bake cookies before calling it a night. Don't want to think about the fact that I'll be at work in less than 12 hours. Weekends are too short.
